What a name for a really beautiful groundcover. Veronica pectinata only grows about two inches high, tolerates doughty soils, stays green long into the fall, and is hardy to zone 3. Here’s the real treasure of the plant:

The plants cover themselves with these beautiful true-blue flowers that last a week or so. They look beautiful under crocus, tulips and daffodils.
Looking up information about this veronica, I learned it is a source for ehrenoside, a phenylpropanoid glycoside.
